It’s not often that someone reads one of Joan Chittister’s books and is inspired to write one of their own. But that’s what happened to grandmother Dee Lorenz. The very active 87-year-old found herself curtailed by COVID-19 and remembered what she had read in Sister Joan’s book, The Gift of Years. “In it she says that we have an obligation to share what we know,” Lorenz said. So share she did, spending the pandemic months completing five autographical books for her grandchildren and three for her children.
