Jesus in the tomb is one proof we have that darkness is not the enemy. Our greatest enemy is the unwillingness to believe in dawn, in resurrection. Hope is what keeps the soul alive in bad times; hope gives us strength to go on despite the darkness of the moment.

  • Joan Chittister was the Keynote Speaker at the National Older Adults Conference, on September 3, 2019. This conference, held in Ashville, NC, was a Spirit-filled gathering of adults 50 and older who love learning and discerning together, exploring God’s call for their lives, and living out that call by sharing their energy, insight, and legacy with their families, communities, and the world.

  • Former Irish President Mary McAleese has been awarded the 2019 Alfons Auer Ethics Prize by the Catholic Faculty of Theology of Tübingen University, in recognition of her doctoral work on children’s rights in the Catholic Church’s 1983 code of canon law. In honor of this award, Joan Chittister and Dr. McAleese will have a public conversation at Trinity College, Dublin, on November 2.
